As one of the Jonesborough Farmer’s Market’s original vendors, Dominick (the namesake of Dominick’s Garden) has been gardening and farming with his mother’s help since 2008. All produce grown follows NOP standards. He grows a variety of vegetables including heirloom beans, peppers, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, leeks, and kohlrabi.
Dominick’s decision to begin gardening was largely influenced by his father, who has had a garden for as long as he can remember. “My dad told me I always liked to play in the dirt, since I was at least 2 years old.” Dominick began gardening on his own when he was 9. A neighbor plowed the empty lot next to his house and offered him some garden space.
